I am also running one-day workshops at the new Art Factory in Hall Road, Norwich. These will be in various printing techniques including:
- monoprinting with stencils
- lino cut
- collograph
- drypoint
- block printing (stamping)
- Poetry Prints (image and text)

Intermediate to advanced ability, at least a two-day workshop.
Groups and individual, Schools and Colleges.
Over 10 years old as sharp tools are used, and a high standard of manual dexterity is required.
In linocut and woodcut the areas of the design which are not to be printed are cut away with hand tools. Because of the nature of linoleum and certain kinds of wood, it is not possible to get fine detail in the design. But keeping the design simple makes it easier for the inexperienced printmaker, and lino is inexpensive and easier to cut than wood or metal, making it an ideal technique to learn for the intermediate student.
It is best to work from some already prepared material - drawings, designs or photos etc.

Dry point is the most direct and straightforward of all the intaglio (meaning to engrave or cut) techniques. It simply involves making a mark on the plate by scratching it with a sharp needle. The scratch, once it has inked rubbed into it, will print as a line on the paper. I offer drypoint lessons using perspex which is cheaper and easier to scratch into.
