A hand-made book containing new art work and poetry reflecting the world of the 15th century Paston Letters is being launched on October 11th and 12th in Paston Church in North Norfolk.
The book has been made using an innovative, eco-friendly, non-toxic printmaking technique.
The exhibition on October 10, 11 and 12 will also feature prints and poetry independent of the book. It is planned to tour the exhibition after this.
More information is available on the Paston Heritage Society website created by InPrint artist Mike Fenton at pastonheritage.co.uk.
I am a professional artist exhibiting both as an individual and in collaboration with other artists and writers, especially within the collaborative group InPrint.
Working mainly on paper I draw quite spontaneously, allowing imagery to emerge with little conscious interference. The drawings are of intricate patterns and archetypal symbols relating to themes such as the family, fertility, reproduction and the four elements. There are also lots of images of nature and especially trees and leaves.
As a printmaker I mostly use the techniques of relief print, collograph and etching to make colourful figurative and also abstract images.
I am an artist and tutor with over 15 years of teaching experience in running workshops for schools, tutoring evening classes and teaching private students.
With my unique mobile-printing-press I am able to offer a comprehensive range of techniques and classes for all ages and abilities at a large variety of venues.
